Course overview

BPMNK2033 Business Intelligence and Data Analytics (BIDA) introduces how organisations turn data into better decisions. You will learn the ideas behind business analytics, practise the Excel skills every analyst needs, and work with AI tools responsibly.

What you will learn

Chapter 1 sets the foundation. After it you should be able to:

  • Identify strategic, tactical and operational decisions.
  • Describe the five steps of the decision-making process.
  • Give examples of descriptive, predictive and prescriptive analytics.
  • Describe how analytics is used in finance, HR, marketing, health care, supply chain and other areas.
  • Explain big data, the cloud and AI, and the legal and ethical issues of using data (including Malaysia's PDPA and the INFORMS ethics guidelines).
